Two ways to work

The same platform either way — the same matter ledgers, the same reconciliation records, the same security and audit history. What differs is who does the work.

Shtim Self-Service

Your team. Our system.

For firms that want their own staff to maintain the account using Shtim.

$99
per month, per trust account
  • Secure client portal
  • Transaction import with duplicate protection
  • Matter-level balances and full matter histories
  • Reconciliation tools and reconciliation history
  • Firm user permissions — decide who may import, assign, or finalize
  • Reporting and export

Unlimited transactions. No transaction-volume charges. No setup fee unless Shtim performs a setup service for you.

Shtim Managed

Shtim handles the reconciliation process for you.

For firms that want the work performed and finalized by Shtim.

$250
per week, per trust account, plus setup and volume charges
  • Everything in Self-Service
  • Shtim reviews posted activity weekly and attributes it to matters
  • Unidentified items are put to your firm with the detail needed to answer them
  • Your submissions are reviewed by Shtim before they affect the official record
  • Shtim finalizes the period and preserves the counts and balances behind it

$250 covers the first 20 posted transactions a week, plus $100 for each further block of ten. One-time setup is $500 per account.

You can move between them. A Self-Service account can be upgraded to Managed at any time, and a Managed account can move the other way once its outstanding work is settled. Nothing is lost in either direction: every transaction, matter, and finalized reconciliation is preserved, and each one continues to show whether your firm or Shtim performed it.

Managed pricing

You choose the weekly capacity

On a managed account there are no packages to pick between. Name the number of posted transactions a week the account needs covered, and the price follows from that number.

Capacity is sold in blocks of ten. Asking for 37 a week buys — and is billed as — 40.

Covers establishing the account from a clean opening position.
Going over in a given period costs $150 for each block of up to 10 above your purchased capacity. Overage is calculated from the finalized transaction count for the reconciliation period, after any holiday carryover has been added to your allowance. Unused capacity does not carry over from a quiet week.

Counting

What counts as a transaction

On a managed account, each separately posted transaction line in the bank’s online activity counts as one transaction, regardless of amount, type, description, or its relationship to another transaction. That includes deposits, withdrawals, checks, wires, ACH entries, fees, and reversals.

If one underlying event results in two separately posted lines, each line counts separately. A transaction is counted when it appears as posted or cleared at the time the reconciliation for that period begins; pending items are counted in the period in which they post.

Self-service accounts have no transaction-volume charge, so none of this affects them.

Billing

How charges are applied

  • Self-service is billed monthly, per enrolled account.
  • Managed subscription is billed weekly, per enrolled account, and continues during weeks deferred for an observed holiday.
  • Setup fee is charged at signup on a managed account.
  • Overage is calculated from the finalized count for the period and billed after Shtim confirms the count.
  • Capacity changes apply prospectively and do not remove overage already incurred.
  • Payment is by an authorized payment method held with our payment processor; ACH is preferred.
Fees on this page are stated per enrolled trust account and are governed by the executed agreement for that account, which controls in the event of any inconsistency. Shtim provides nonlegal bookkeeping and reconciliation services and does not provide legal advice, audit, or assurance services. On a self-service account Shtim provides software tools only and does not review, approve, or verify the firm’s work.
